4year old Mya was born with a condition called Hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE) and as a result was later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Her parents were told she may never walk again. Cerebral palsy impaired Mya’s motor functions and balance, as a result she experienced major difficulty with movement and achieving motor skill milestones. Wearing a brace has helped immensely. She falls often due to poor coordination but with renewed determination always bravely gets back up. Mya the Cerebral palsy champion: Putting one foot before the other, taking it step by step is Mya’s milestone goal! As she never gives up. At 12months Mya recorded major progress when she made her first attempt at walking. Currently, Mya rides a bike, Climbs, Jumps, runs, swims and keeps challenging herself with a lot more activities. We are proud of you Mya and we are as happy as you are! smashing all odds everyday step by step! You’re truly one in a Million.
